We love Hudson River Park! (Yes, there are several “no dog” signs in the beautiful green areas, but we understand they want to maintain the lawns, gardens, and shrubs.) The walking and biking paths extend from Lower Manhattan up to 57th Street where the park turns into Riverside Park. There are 3 enclosed dog runs, many dog-friendly seasonal cafes, beautiful sunset views, and plenty of other gorgeous scenery.
This past weekend we noticed several signs promoting the park’s official flower contest. The Park community is asked to vote for the flower they think is best suited to be the official park flower. On April 22nd, they will announce the winner. (Vote here.) We vote for the Daylily. We actually thought they were Daffodils. In any case, they look like the sun and brighten the park. They are very pretty!
The Frying Pan and PD O’Hurley’s are great places to stop for a (dog-friendly) bite to eat along the way. Watch out for rats at PD O’Hurley’s! They like to romp under the outdoor cafe flooring!
