We love going on urban safaris around New York City! And, wow! Manhattanhenge’s beautiful sunset in the urban jungle was definitely a worthwhile site to see! All we needed were some sundowner doggy cocktails to make our night complete!
The setting sun aligns with the Manhattan skyscrapers
Sometimes called the Manhattan Solstice, Manhattanhenge occurs two times each year when the setting sun aligns with the east-west street grids in Manhattan. If you missed last night’s sunset, Mahattanhenge will take place again this year on July 12 and 13. Coincidentally, the winter solstice dates with the rising sun effect are in December and January. We will have to check that one out, too!
