We got up bright and early on Easter Sunday and headed to Fifth Avenue for the annual New York City Easter parade. Many visitors and guests were expecting an actual parade with marching bands and flowering floats. In reality, people just gather along Fifth Avenue north of 49th Street and admire beautiful Easter bonnets and colorful outfits. Some folks seem to wear updated Halloween costumes. I guess that’s one way to reuse a costume! Our friend Dawn from Bespoke Canine made bright and cheery yellow outfits for us. We had fun posing for photos and strolling along the Avenue. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to be happy! Spring has finally arrived in the urban jungle!
NYC is most walkable city and we love to walk | thepupdiary.com
19 NovHappy to see that New York City has been named America’s most walkable city based on Walk Score ranking! Of course, we already knew that and take advantage of beautiful and entertaining walks every day. Here are some of our favorite places to walk around town:
Central Park (doggy paradise!)
Hudson River Park along the river
Walkway over the Hudson (a quick train ride north of the city)
Lunch on the run with Broadway Bites | thepupdiary.com
12 NovWe love outdoor food festivals! Well, outdoor food festivals that are dog friendly! Mom lets us try different human foods and we all get to hang out together in the sun. Broadway Bites is the newest culinary food market from UrbanSpace NYC. The market will be open daily through November 24 in Greeley Square Park at Broadway and 33rd Street. With over 2 dozen food vendors, there is something for everyone! No dog food . . . but lots of other cool items to try. We also like the Winter Village in Bryant Park for snacks. And also all of our favorite dog-friendly burger joints!
